Retinal photography provides Dr. Prather with a high resolution, digital image of the back of the eye. This greatly enhances our ability to examine key anatomical structures such as the macula, the optic nerve, and the retinal vasculature. With this technology we can help ensure that we are catching common eye pathologies at their earliest onset. Retinal photography is a great tool for detecting diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, macular degeneration and a host of optic nerve pathologies, including optic neuritis and glaucoma.
